Some people had shown interest in more information about the Slim Jim
antenna that I brought to Show & Tell, so here are some links to the
info I used to construct it.
The original article written by FC Judd, G2BCX:
http://www.hamuniverse.com/g2bcxslimjimantenna.html
Measurement calculator and more explanation on how it works:
http://www.m0ukd.com/Calculators/Slim_Jim/index.php
Tons of other stuff @ http://www.hamuniverse.com, just search for
"Slim Jim" with the space.
Also, plans for the dummy load that I built can be found here:
http://k4eaa.com/dummy.html
K4EAA also sells a kit of twenty 1K 3W 5% Metal Film resistors to
build the dummy load here: http://www.k4eaa.com/parts.htm (scroll down
the page) it also comes with the diode you need to add the rf probe
feature.
I purchased the resistor kit from him. You might be able to buy them
elsewhere for cheaper, but I wanted to support him since he was good
enough to put the resource up on line. He was very responsive to
emails and shipping was quick for me.
I had a lot of fun listening to everyone's projects. Looking forward
to next year.
Enjoy,
Matt/W1MSW
