FD would not have been possible without all the work that was put in by [all
the people mentioned in other survey replies].
The biggest impact for *me *(as opposed to previous Field Days) was having a
new rig (K3), new, fast laptop (Sony Vaio), and having computer and radio
communicating with other seamlessly through N1MM, and having our FD stations
networked, so we could see how badly 40 cw was kicking our butts. Also, the
Shurr paddle "temporarily" borrowed from Marty. I realize that these were
largely personal things, but note that getting to work with topnotch gear is
a treat!
To improve: Me, not be tired. No old tired transceivers and laptops. (Yeah,
I know, I'm old and tired, too.)
Comments:
1. I didn't realize that we would have full meals. "Burgers and dogs" didn't
imply the full range of eats provided. (I could have not taken any of my own
food, except for lunch Saturday.)
2. The people that set up and took down did a great job. Sure, it was SNAFU
but that's normal!
3. I do not miss the old dupe sheets.
4. Should we consider going back to 2 days at Dufresne? (I'll throw
something into the hat.)
5. We need more participants...
