Hey Jim, 



Long time.  Hope all is well and your summer has been as good as mine.  Regarding your request for input on FD, I'll put my two 'non-cents' worth -  



As you are aware, I am not a contester but I do like to support the club and have always enjoyed the time spent at FD each year.  My biggest kick is when someone wants to sit down and try my equipment - six this year.  That being said,   how about a QRP FD?  Yeah,  the complaints from some may occur,  and the total contact count will definitely be less, but the group dynamics will be fun to watch; individual capabilities will be sharpened ,and we will be getting back to basics.  Who knows, without generators, available locations may be more plentiful, and this may be better financially for the club.  On the slim chance that there might be some interest, we could  request the formation of an ad-hoc committee (early) to address the whole format and make suggestions.  Just my dumb thought! 



Ideas for thought: 



1.  Location - a hill will a view? 

2.  Food - 

3.  Recreational family activities - RC flights, scavengerr hunt, 

4.  Training 

5.  Equipment - ie towers or not! 

6.   Involving more tech class operators -but we need the experienced ops too!  

7.   Exam session
