Well I finally got around to working the Maxim event this evening. The band
was in good shape when I started, just should have started earlier.

 

Anyway, if you want to have some fun on HF there is/was quite a bit of
activity for the HPM event and I'm sure there will be more over the next two
evening. More info can be found at:
http://www.arrl.org/news/stories/2009/08/17/11025/?nc=1. It is not exactly a
contest, more like a special event. There are nice certificates available
for making 25 contacts with stations signing /140 at the end of their call
sign.

 

Considering the hour there was a lot of activity on 20 meters this evening.
I worked about 50 stations in a hour or so, but only 20 signing /140. Five
to go, but I still have two days - plenty of time.

 

New to HF, this is a great way to play, work some new states and have fun.
AND, you could get some nice 'wallpaper' for the shack when it is all over.

 

So don't sit back, turn on the radio and make some QSO's!
