Jim,
You should have a look at the short vertical studies Jerry Sevick, W2FMI,
published it QST years back. Its pretty hard to get a workable radiation
resistance with a three-foot radiator, at least at the lower HF bands, that
makes me wonder how they are coming up anything like 100% efficiency.

Maybe you have already seen this but it looks kind of interesting to me. Has
anyone touched one of these yet? Three claims are that it is a vertical,
near 100% efficient, and low angle of radiation - note the switch box for
switching all bands between 10-20 (5 band).
A heck of an innovation if it really works.........
