[HCRA] Looking for a microphone that can be used with a Yaesu FT-747?

Hey everyone,

We (HCRA) have been the benefactor of a Yaesu FT-747 to auction off this
coming Friday. The radio is in fine shape, appears to work well but is
missing the microphone. Does anyone have an old mic out there you could
donate to the cause that will work with this radio? This is a perfect rig
for a new ham and would be made even better with a mic.

It doesn't need anything fancy, most any microphone for a Kenwood or Yaesu
should work. Icom's are a bit different and many have built in pre-amps, not
necessary or desired for this rig. I don't think the radio shipped with a
stock mic but the Yaesu MD-1B8 or MH-1B8 are recommended. But most anything
will work and if has an 8 pin connector that would be a bonus.

Or if you have anything else you would like to donate to the auction we
would be grateful as well.

Thanks and '73.

Jim
