This is a great article by K6BP (Bruce Perens) about a recent massive
communications blackout inflicted on a well-to-do California community by
unknown attackers. The main fiber lines were cut by a person or persons who
knew where to strike. Only two-way radio communications were left to
facilitate emergency coordination with local agencies and hospitals.
