Hey everyone,
It was great hearing all the HCRA members on the air during NEQP this past
weekend. Memory doesn't serve me well any longer but I know I worked N1BAA,
KC1V, W1NY, K1DNX and heard W1BMK. I'm sure there were others.
Eric, KB1JVI came over to my shack and we operated as multi/single. He did a
great job banging them away on 20 and 40 phone until well after 10:00 PM on
Saturday. I plinked away at CW for the rest of the evening. Sunday I spent
more time than I should have on the air, splitting my time between CW and
phone. Conditions were poor on 10 and 15 but 20, 40 & 80 certainly made up
for it. When all was said and done we ended up with just over 500 contacts,
pretty good for a couple of amateurs.
Now that the contest is over there is still paperwork left to be done.
Remember to submit your logs to mailto:logs at neqp.org or by USPS. If you are
submitting electronically the Cabrillo format is preferred. More details can
be found at: http://www.neqp.org
Most importantly put HCRA in the club line on the log so our we can get
credit for all your hard work.
Here's our standings in the club completion from past years:
2007 - #3 (49,426 points)
2006 - #3 (65,344 points)
2005 - #8 (26,548 points)
2004 - #6 (23,913 points)
2003 - #10 (13,803 points)
2002 - #10 (19,076 points)
Not too shabby for our little radio club in the Pioneer Valley!
I hope everyone had fun and if you did be sure to tell someone else about it
so more people can enjoy NEQP in 2009.
Thanks to everyone for your support of HCRA and amateur radio in the Pioneer
Valley.
