To all HCRA members, supporters, and of course Field Day volunteers.

There will be a brief Field Day meeting held tonight, June 19th, 6:30 PM at
Dufresne Park. The proclaimed purpose of the meeting is to review the site
for any physical changes since last year, talk about station locations
(and/or relocations) to reduce interstation interference, etc. Of course
this group doesn't really need a 'real' reason for a meeting. They like to
get together on a regular basis and talk ham radio for any reason
what-so-ever!

Even if you haven't 'pulled the trigger' yet to play at Field Day why not
stop by? It will be a good chance to talk with some of the 'regular' Field
Day participants in a much less busy setting and ask questions you didn't
want to ask over the air. Find out the real reasons why stations are located
where they are (close to the food?) certain antennas are used for some
stations (are those trees really in the right place?), band planning, meals,
etc. Everyone is welcome so 'come on down'!

Field Day is the premier showcase of amateur radio to the public. It gives
all amateurs a chance to demonstrate not only our ability to provide
communication in times of public need but to let everyone see how much fun
the hobby can provide. It is made better by everyone's participation so
don't be shy, come on by!

Dufresne Park is located on Route 202 in Granby, MA. You can find a map to
the site at (and other local FD sites as well) by going to:
http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/fd/locator.php. Put in your zip
code and away you go.

The weather promises to be good this evening, hopefully you can find some
time after supper to stop by and say hello.
