Hi, Jim
I wondered about that one myself, but I didn't look it up. Webster's New
World Dictionary says it's one word, however. But who cares as long as a lot
of folks show up!

OK gang,
Just a little over 24 hours to go until the Tail Gate Party. The weather
people still promise a perfect evening so you have no excuse not to be
there.
As you know the Tail Gate Party (is tail gate one word or two - WW3DE please
comment) is a great place to sell off some of your 'unneeded' amateur radio
gear or to buy some of next year's 'unneeded' gear. Sellers spots are only
$5 and buyers are free. Yup, free - zero - nada - zip - nothing, you get the
picture? You don't need to be an HCRA member to buy or sell so tell your
friends and bring them along.
Here's some highlights for the evening:
CLUB TABLE:
-----------
Don't have a tail gate? Then you can mark your items and put them on the
club table. For our effort we ask for a 10% donation of the selling price.
Too embarrassed to put a price on it, why not donate it? If you want we
won't even admit where it came from!
GOOD STUFF CHEAP:
-----------------
Here's a list of what just one member (WW3DE, ex N1RL)is bringing:
Greetings!
We're moving to Delaware this summer to be closer to family and friends,
hence the new "Delaware-appropriate" call sign, WW3DE. Moving always means
having to lighten one's load, of course, and I will be at the tail gate
party this Friday with some great "junque," including a little Palstar 300 W
antenna tuner, a small keyer, a 2-meter 10 W in/40 W out FM/SSB amp (12 V),
wire, cable, connectors and stuff I'm not even able to identify any longer.
We also have a couple of non-ham radio items that I cannot tail gate for
obvious reasons, to wit:
(1) Craftsman 7.75 hp snow thrower, purchased new in January 2003, in great
shape and well maintained, with manual. Asking $475.
(2) Craftsman 10-inch bench saw with floor stand and table extensions and
all the usual stuff plus a few extra blades. One hp motor. Very nice
condition. Asking $90. This unit is probably 15 or so years old, but it has
not seen much use since I acquired it back in 1998.
(3) Kenmore 1.3 cu ft microwave, c1983, works great, with manual and temp
probe. Asking $15 but will donate to charitable organization.
I've also got a bunch (boxes) of tubes and parts, some vintage radio
skeletons/parts radios and various other household items too numerous to
mention that didn't sell at the garage sale last weekend.
In addition, we will have an older (about 20 years old) Allis-Chalmers
(Simplicity) lawn tractor with bagger to sell. Works great. I'd like to get
$225 for it, but I need to hang onto it for a few more weeks to cut the
lawn!
RAFFLE PRIZES!
--------------
The evening raffle is a Yaesu VX170 HT. 5 watts and tickets are only $1.
Field Day Pins
HCRAwear or Field Day T-Shirts
Also tickets for the Field Day raffle of a Yaesu FT1802M will go on sale for
$5. Only 50 tickets will be sold and the drawing will be held the Sunday of
Field Day.
FOOD & DRINK
------------
Coffee, donuts, soft drinks will all be available.
FUN!
----
Fun is always on hand at every HCRA event. The more that attend, the more
fun we will have!
AND MORE
--------
Also this evening will be our annual elections. Immediately following the
Tail Gate Party you will have the opportunity to vote in next year's slate
of officers and directors. There will be no 'super delegates' involved.
Positions are still open right up until the vote is cast - what are you
waiting for?
After the elections we will have a short Field Day planning meeting and then
everyone can head home to play with those new gadgets you picked up tonight.
Doors open for set-up at 5:00 PM, come early to get the best spot.
A special thanks to Ed and George for working hard to make this years TGP an
event to remember.
