Hi All:

I was reading U.S.A.Today for Dec. 13, 2007 and ran across this
article on the Northern Lights..

Northern Lights' energy source unraveled,
Scientists believe they have discovered the energy
source of Auroras Borealis, the spectacular color dis-
plays in the upper latitudes of the Northern Hemi-
sphere. New data from NASA's Themis mission, a
quintet of satellites launched this winter, found that
the energy comes from a stream of charged particles
from the sun that flows like a current through twisted
'bundles of magnetic fields connecting Earth's upper
atmosphere to the sun. The energy is then abruptly
released in the form of a shimmering display of lights,
researchers say. They presented their findings Tuesday
at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San
Francisco.

Go figure a twisted pair from the Sun to the Earth, what will they think
of next..Hi, Hi..
