Hi everyone,

FD 2006 is just around the corner. Our Field Day chairperson this year is
Eric, KB1JVI. He is working hard right now to get things in order for this
year's Field Day.

Very little has changed since last year. We have again reserved beautiful
Dufresne Park in Granby, MA for our event. This park not only offers a great
location for our stations but lots of interest to the rest of the family
too. Hiking trails, a fishing pond, children's playground and a picnic
pavilion means everyone can have a good time!

All the equipment that HCRA owns: antennas, towers, filters, coax, etc. is
still available for use by the band captains. Many of our band captains are
returning from previous years but there is always room for more. The HCRA
web page has a new FD2006 area where you can see where we stand so far.
Please visit it at: http://www.hcra.org/FD2006.htm

We have a new cook this year. Richard (waiting for his call) is busy now
creating a new menu, just for 2006! At the GOTA helm this year will be Luke,
KB1ISP and Lucy, W1HOT. Unfortunately our steadfast satellite operator Gary,
AA1UE will be unable to attend this year. Anyone know of (or want to)
another???

We will have demonstrations of alternative modes including an R/C electric
helicopter (on ham radio of course). It might even be carrying ATV! A solar
power station, digital, SSB and CW too - something for everyone.

There is a mailing list on yahoo just for HCRA Field Day. If you would like
to join, go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hcra-fd/ It is a great place
to keep in touch with all the activity going of for FD this year.

Simply said lets all work together to make FD2006 the same exciting and fun
event it has been in year's past. It's all about the fun!!!

Field Day, the HCRA way!

Jim, KK1W
