Interesting idea except who ya gonna talk to when the power is out and the 
telecommunications lines are down?

Just be honest and say you want free wifi in the community like they say 
down here.

The front cover of yesterdays Daily Hampshire Gazette caught my eye. some 
professors from Umass want to make city wide free WiFi. and two reasons they 
want to do it is because it can be used as an emergency communications 
network in a disaster, and they also would like to equipt the police 
department w/ VoIP Technology.

The Republican ran the same story:
