Some down here in FM 18 wanted to know about 6m Digital. Here are the

Dan,
Reference your message:
>I have a few friends up here who are interested in PSK 31 and other
>digital modes on 6m. What modes are popular and on what frequencies?
Look for most common digital activity on :
50.290 PSK31
50.260 WSJT/FSK441, JT6M, JT44 and JT65
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * From DOS Website
DOS (Digital On Six) promotes the use of the following calling frequencies:
50.250 MHz Calling Frequency for JT6M (Weak band enhancements)
50.260 MHz Calling Frequency for FSK441A (Meteor Scatter Contacts Only)
50.290 MHz Calling Frequency for PSK31 and Hell modes
50.300 MHz Operating Frequency for RTTY and MFSK
Meteor Scatter Schedules:
50.255 - 50.285 MHz FSK441 & JT6M
(Schedules should not be run on the above calling frequencies)
Best times to operate PSK31 / MFSK / RTTY / Hell
During strong E-Skip openings / an if local activity scheduled time

Although DOS recommends 50.300 for RTTY....you'll have better luck looking
at 50.270 and 5.280 the latter being more likely.
During the Eskip season on 6m...try PSK31 with 15-20 watts. During a band
opening you'll go a long ways.
During the winter look for Auroa and Meteor Shower (MS) with WSJT
While a vertical will work during a band opening for PSK, most of the full
time digital stations will be running horizontal yagis, even arrays.
In any case you get on and keep trying, especially during a band
opening...you never no what will happen on the "magic band"
