Hey there!

This Friday is our regular meeting. The special guest speaker this month is
Mike Tracy, KC1SX. Mike will be discussing with us (among other subjects) a
subject near and dear to all, "How to choose a transceiver". As always a
great raffle prize, coffee & donuts and the best ham company in the Pioneer
Valley.

Also, out now for your reading pleasure is the latest issue of Zero Beat.
Chock full of stuff important to you this month you can view your copy at:
http://www.hcra.org/zerobeat/ZBApril06.pdf.

Lots of stuff on the immediate horizon for active hams in the area. Flea
markets are back in the news now that the weather is getting warmer with
Hosstraders in NH the crown jewel in local fleas, the always fun New England
QSO Party (http://www.neqp.org), the HCRA Tailgate party in June and of
course Field Day at the end of June.

Speaking of Field Day, Eric is looking for someone to head up the cooking
part of the project. It you feel you would like to put your skills forward
and help out HCRA please contact Eric at: mailto:bk1jvi at arrl.net, I know he
will appreciate your interest.

The regular HCRA elections are just around the corner. We have a few members
leaving the board after quite a long stint and are looking for active
members to step forward and help keep HCRA growing strong in the years to
come. Please take a few moments to think where your club would be if others
had not done so in the past. Change is good, growth is inevitable but we
need your o help make it happen. So what do you say? Are you one to just sit
on the side lines and let others do it all for you, or are you willing to
pitch in and shape HCRA's future? Only you can answer that but I can tell
you from experience that the effort is well worth it.

'73 & see you Friday,

Jim, KK1W
