Just a note to say thanks to everyone that participated in last night's Tail
Gate party. The weather was great, and I'm guessing we had 75 or so bargain
hunters/sellers in the parking lot. Andy did his usual fine job with the
audio system and Norm had coffee & Krispy Kreme donuts for everyone. Chalk
up another fine HCRA event. A special thanks to Dave, KB1MU for organizing
the Tail Gate party again this year.
After the tail gate party were our annual elections. We welcomed to the
board two new members, welcomed back two old members and said goodbye to
four departing members for the contributions over the years.
New to the board:
Eric, KB1JVI as our new editor of Zero Beat
Johnny, KB1LTC as our new membership director
Back from retirement:
Irv, W6IS as Vice President
Dave, KB1MU as Secretary
Retiring from the board:
Peter, KI1I
Steve, N1SR
Larry, WB1DBY
Marty, W1MJB
John, Kx1x has moved from editor to program for this year.
It's great to see new blood on the board, but sad to see strong,
contributing members depart. But... I'm sure they will be back further down
the log.
After the elections a there was a short discussion about Field Day. Please
mark your calendars for June 25 and 26 - for Field Day 2005. A great
location, stations to operate, food to eat, antennas to put up, walking
trails and ponds for the rest of the family and a chance to visit with your
fellow hams while forgetting about the pressures of everyday life. What's
not to like about that?
This was our last meeting of the 2005 season. Keep up with club happenings
over the summer by checking: http://www.hcra.org on a regular basis. There
you will find the latest of Field Day planning, the upcoming special event
station at the Westfield Air Show and more. Our next regular meeting (the
'welcome back' meeting) will be September 2nd. John is working on a special
speaker for that evening and we will have an exciting raffle prize too.
In closing, thanks for your vote of confidence for another year and most
importantly thanks for your participation in all the HCRA events over the
past year. The HCRA is truly a club of significant stature because of
everyone one of you - HCRA's engaged members.
Don't forget - Field Day - June 25 & 26th!!!
'73....
Enjoy the summer, have fun in the hobby.
Jim, KK1W
