Just something of interest to everyone:

That's right...it IS this weekend!
CQWW SSB 2003 - The "Grandfather" of DX contests. If you've never =
worked a contest before, go ahead, give it a shot! This contest occurs =
on HF, every year, and the goal is to work as many countries outside of =
your own as you can in 36 hours (as a single operator). The dates and =
times are:

0000 UTC, Saturday, October 25 through 2400 UTC Sunday, October 26

You can use 1.8MHz-30MHz (except for WARC bands).

If you live pretty much anywhere on the Eastern seaboard, your exchange =
is RST+05 (i.e. "XX1XYZ please copy KB1FWN five nine zero five").

You will need a logging program or sheet. You can download or print the =
logging sheet off the CQWW website ( http://www.cqww.com ). I prefer to =
computer log, and have been using CT by K1EA ( http://www.k1ea.com ) =
lately. You can also try N1MMlogger ( http://www.n1mm.com ). There are =
very many contest loggers out there, and the two I just mentioned are =
free downloads.

It is really a great contest. Last year, I only got to work the last =
four hours of it, but let me say that in those four hours, I got =
countries I had never even heard of, and most of them even QSL'ed! If =
you hunt DX but don't really contest, you can still have TONS of fun =
with this one. Once again, if you want to find out more, visit the CQ =
World Wide website at http://www.cqww.com . If you do decide to work =
it, good luck!

P.S. To all fellow Agawamians, that constant buzz on your TV screen =
won't happen again this weekend! I finally got some filters!
