[HCRA] Computer Querry

OK Question:

I have no idea why, but my modem is dead. I
re-installed the drivers today after getting them
sucessfully transferred. Now the question is this:

Why does it install 2 modems when I have only one? The
one on Com 1 is like a ghost because nothing can
communicate with it, however, the one on Com 3 is the
real one with which I can at least get information
about it from Windows. How do I swap the one on Com 3
to Com 1? How do I prevent the doggon thing from
making the ghost modem on the system. I am running
W98SE on an HP N3310. The modem chipset and software
is from ESS Technologies. Yes I have the right
drivers. Its an Audio/Modem combo.

Any help ios appreciated.
