I am told by certain constitutional scholars that my un-appointment is =
not official yet.
Bob, you should probably delay submitting the form until after the board =
has had a chance to meet in public and hopefully the 440 machine will =
remain off until then.
The board of directors of a public corporation must meet publicly to =
conduct the business of the board of directors. At this meeting there =
must be a quorum. This is necessary so that members of the club (and =
the public) can voice opinions as to what the board of directors is =
about to do. A notice to the members should be provided as to when the =
board will meet if they meet at a different time and/or place than =
normally planned.
The board must vote to remove me and then vote to install my replacement =
if that is the desire of the board.
The group doesn't have to worry about me attending the meeting as I do =
not plan to attend so that the group can discuss about me openly without =
having to worry about what my reactions will be.
I can't guarantee what others will do.
Of course Walt may interpret the constitution differently. Out of =
fairness to me I think that the process is necessary and hope that the =
majority of the board will agree.
If by slim chance I am not unseated, I will come back and do my job in =
earnest. I will perform my duties as I always have; with the best =
interest of the club in mind. I have considered this whole thing a very =
large disagreement. I stand by my opinion about censuring my =
submissions to the intermod and about my decision to turn the Soapstone =
440 machine off until it is recrystalled. I also stand by my =
interpretation of the constitution that separates the officers from the =
technical committee. I know that I could get past this moment and do my =
job again. It only depends on the decision of the board.
I have not submitted any resignation yet as I insist on being unseated =
because of my beliefs. It is the principle of the thing in this case.
