FYI for those wanna-be or part-time contesters...
Here is an invitation from Richard, K5NA, who has a huge station near Manor, on SR 973 a few miles North of
U.S. 290.
Check out the multiple tall towers on his map at QRZ.com.
This would be a fun experience, in addition to running
legal limit power to some very big antennas on tall
towers! Break pile ups with one call, or be the reason
for the pile up!! ;-)

Subject: [CTDXCC] K5NA Open House for WPX SSB
This is a reminder that Susan and I are going to have an open-house multi-multi effort for the 2018 WPX SSB weekend. On March 24th and 25th.
The main purpose of the weekend is to have fun and to train and encourage newcomers to contesting. If you are inexperienced at contesting and want to give it a try and learn more, please come over and we will have mentors available to show you the tricks and help you give operating a try.
Emphasis will be placed on teaching, learning, fun-operating, and camaraderie. It will not be a high-pressure weekend.
The contest starts at 7:00PM on Friday March 23rd, local time. The contest ends at 7:00 PM Sunday evening. You can come over for the full 48 hours or you can come for whatever hours you have available.
We will be using the CTDXCC club call-sign, W5CT, for the weekend.
So far the following operators have said they would like to spend some time here that weekend.
K5NA, K5DU, K5QB, W5MF, KJ5T, K5CD, K5NZ, and K5MXG. Most of that list is part-timers. There will be plenty of available operating slots for you to get your feet wet. We need more people.
Let me know if you can come over and operate that weekend.
73, Richard & Susan (K5NA & K5DU)
