Subject: [CTDXCC] CQ WPX SSB

Susan and I are going to have an open-house multi-multi effort for the 2018 WPX SSB weekend. The purpose is to train and encourage newcomers to radio contesting. You can come over and sit down in front of a station and get your feet wet.

We want to encourage those that are already experienced in contesting to come over to help with the training and to provide examples of their contesting operating skills.

Emphasis will be placed on teaching, learning, fun-operating, and camaraderie.

The contest weekend is March 24th - 25th but actually starts at 7:00PM on Friday March 23rd, local time. The contest ends at 7:00 PM Sunday evening.

We plan to do multi-multi because it simplifies the operating experience and we do not have to worry about rules that prevent us from band-changes in the other categories. Each station, 160M through 10M, will be a separate entity and anyone can sit down at anytime the band is open to make QSOs on an available station.

We will be using the CTDXCC club call-sign, W5CT, for the weekend.

We have some accommodations for overnight stay. There is one bedroom with one bed, a second bedroom with two beds, two lay-back easy chairs, and a sofa. If we have an overflow crowd, there are a few motels 6-7 miles away.

Meals and sandwich makings will be provided, as well as water and what we happen to have around for soft drinks. If you have a special drink or snacks that you cannot live without, you are welcome to bring them.

No alcohol is allowed for the contest weekend.

Let us know if you would like to come over for the weekend or for parts of the weekend.

73, Richard & Susan (K5NA & K5DU)
