Gordon Green who was a member of the Club last year and who provided me a $20 bill today to pay his current dues tomorrow night has graciously offered us a FREE 5x10 storage locker into perpetuity in his storage locker lot (Turtle Creek Storall) on Hwy 173 just North of Upper Turtle Creek Road for the storage of our Field Day and Emergency Deployment equipment. I took the liberty of signing the rental agreement specifying the rental charge of ZERO Dollars per month for as long as we desire to use the space or until he sells the business, at which time we shall have to look again for somewhere to store our materials. This makes it so much easier to store antennas and other equipment in a manner where it doesn’t clutter up some members garage. As Field Day Coordinator I will have a key/combination to the locker and will provide a key/combination to other members of the Executive Board and Assistant Field Day Coordinator and to the Red Cross Rep (currently Terry Hipskind) as desired. The material stored there should be readily available for deployment as necessary to support the Red Cross as well as to support Field Day.
It is my intention to make a motion tomorrow night that we subsidize Gordon’s Club dues each year we occupy the storage locker. Gordon is not supportive of this, but I feel it is the least we can do starting next year.
