[HCARC] 80 meter short distance comm

A few years ago Gale Heise and I went out to Menard and set up a low dipole . We made contact with the club station on 40 and 80 meter phone. A team in Fredericksburg was unable to establish contact on their inverted V.  On the way out we tried to reach the club repeater from an area near Junction using a 2 meter whip in a 20 foot mast. The area at the top of the plateau near I 10 was successful. A parking area part way down the hill was not. When set up for hf we made contact on 5 bands using an LDG autotuner. The dipole was cut for 3873 and fed with coax.
