[HCARC] Logging and Computer / Radio Control Programs

Well, we are going to see if HRD version 5 will run on a Windows 8 or 8.1
computer as I am in need of a new one badly and all that is available for a
reasonable price is running Windows 8 which upgrades for free to 8.1 in
October. As far as computers if anyone is looking for a Touchscreen Laptop
(Touchscreen is the only way to go with windows 8), I can pick you up a
Lenovo 15.1 inch Touchscreen with the Dual Core 3.1 chip at Fort Sam for
$599.00 with no sales Tax. This was also the only laptop they had in touch
screen with a DVD drive - yes DVD drives are going away too. The identical
computer (absolutely identical except for having Dell as the label instead
of Lenovo) at Costco is $899.00 and then add sales tax. I will then run it
with a separate much wider screen monitor also touchscreen to get everything
big enough for my old eyes to see it easily. I will say that having to
transition computers is no fun and for the most part isn't cheap when one
considers the software in addition to the hardware, but my trusty old XP
tabletop is 8 or so years old, is on it's second hard drive and the sound
card just went haywire the other day. SOON, I need to do something - please
make it to the end of the month.
