Gary, do us all a favor and trim your posts! It's tedious having to
scroll through an entire thread each time you post.
Now, if I was to buy a new desktop PC today I'd build my own. Components
like MOBOs, power supplies, hard drives, other peripherals and cases are
readily available at online vendors like Newegg. It's only a matter of
installing the desired devices in the case and cabling it all up. Then
you install the operating system (OS) of your choice. Various OSs are
available on DVD from the same vendors that sell the hardware. A couple
of days spent online to brush up on the state of the art is all that's
needed in order to find out what components are needed to assemble a PC
to do the things you want it to do. Laptop PCs are much the same in a
more limited fashion. All in all, it's not rocket science.
In reference to touch screen monitors, I priced them. They cost roughly
twice what standard flat screen monitors do, size-for-size. Better to
buy the OS of your choice and install it for half the outlay you'd make
for the touch screen monitor, IMO.
