Gary, do us all a favor and trim your posts!  It's tedious having to 
scroll through an entire thread each time you post.

Now, if I was to buy a new desktop PC today I'd build my own. Components 
like MOBOs, power supplies, hard drives, other peripherals and cases are 
readily available at online vendors like Newegg.  It's only a matter of 
installing the desired devices in the case and cabling it all up.  Then 
you install the operating system (OS) of your choice.  Various OSs are 
available on DVD from the same vendors that sell the hardware.  A couple 
of days spent online to brush up on the state of the art is all that's 
needed in order to find out what components are needed to assemble a PC 
to do the things you want it to do.  Laptop PCs are much the same in a 
more limited fashion.  All in all, it's not rocket science.

In reference to touch screen monitors, I priced them.  They cost roughly 
twice what standard flat screen monitors do, size-for-size. Better to 
buy the OS of your choice and install it for half the outlay you'd make 
for the touch screen monitor, IMO.
