[HCARC] Antenna help

I have a couple of different antenna analyzers we can use to see what is
going on. One of them will show not only the SWR, but also the magnitude and
sign of the reactive component. This will help in figuring out what the
problem is and how to fix it. As Harvey has indicated, this type of antenna
can be sensitive to ground conditions and nearby objects.

I live in the Upper Turtle Creek area south of Kerrville. I'm happy to come
and help out. Just give me a call.

Subject: [HCARC] Antenna help

I have just tried to install a HUSTLER BTV 5 antenna. I am very new at this
and obviously made some mistakes. On all bands the SWR is beyond what my
radio can try to tune in. I think I followed all the instruction but
possibly my soldering skills (non existent) may be the problem or something
else. I don't have an antenna analyser and am not sure how to trouble shoot
with one when I get it.
I appreciate any suggestions or if anyone is able to stop by to help me find
where I made mistakes. 367-5758. 370-3769 Thanks Joe Vaughan KF5QXN
