Yes, Harvey, that's true. But I think the question should go to Kerry as he was the one who recommended the antenna.

It won't work now anyway. That was in the day of the steel beer can.......
Do you really think you could solder aluminum cans?

Kerry,
Your presentation at the last meeting was great. I enjoy thinking about
antennas. When I had some land (always just a city lot) I put up a few. As
a young ham I drove my poor father crazy. When I got him to agree to let me
put up a tower, well, that's another story for another time.
I couldn't resist commenting on your antenna recommendation on tonight's
net. I always thought you gave out the beers AFTER the antenna was raised at
the antenna raising party. In this case, the beers have to be drunk
first. That being the case, and only 4 people are suggested to raise the
antenna means that, well, you can do the math for the 82 cans required for
a 32 ft vertical. I have to wonder how vertical the vertical would be after
all that beer consumption? Also, looking at the price list, when was the
last time we were able to purchase a 1 quart bottle of soda for $.05 - in a
glass container no less?
Please, keep offering suggestions on antennas. What made you stumble across
this one I can only imagine.
73,
Jerry
