If you are one of those who need a perfect match from rig to antenna
system, (and your SWR is under 1.3 : 1) do not try using an antenna tuner to
eck out the match. When using an antenna turner there is something called
"insertion loss", in other words a small amount of power is consumed in the
form of heat within your tuner. When I was living on Long Island, one of the
radio clubs I was in did extensive testing on this subject. Your RF output
(field strength) will not improve using a tuner when the SWR is this low.
Either live with it or "trim" or "add" to your actual antenna length until
you get the match you want. Don't worry about "fold back" because rigs
won't start doing this until the mis-match is greater than 1.5 : 1 .
