To All-
Thanks to Alan Cone for helping me to sort out the availability of Classroom B on Saturday.
We have another opportunity to hold an N1MM Digital Logging Practice Session this coming Saturday, February 25th, 11:45 am at the Red Cross Building. This is the North American RTTY QSO Party http://www.ncjweb.com/naqprules.pdf . The contest begins at 12 noon on Saturday and runs until midnight on Saturday but I plan to stay only until 6 pm unless someone wants to stay longer.
What I like about this contest is that the power is limited to 100 watts providing us with the opportunity to “run” stations i.e. we can set on frequency and call CQ. As a result, we’ll focus our attention on running stations rather than search and pounce.
It appears at Field Day we will have a CW station, Phone station and a third station that will be flexible to run CW, Digital or Phone. As an example, if we have existing or newly licensed hams who haven’t developed CW operating skills they may want to run Phone or Digital on the third station. We will also have a GOTA station where newly licensed hams will be encouraged to operate towards bonus points as well.
I believe Jeff may bring his computer on Saturday after he gets off work to further configure N1MM and possibly play with networking the log between two computers.
We’ll try to have one of the radios set to 146.98 but if not, you may gain entrance by calling my cell phone @ 281-844-8897.
As a side note, we now have 16 DX stations and 47 states with confirmed QSLs in the mixed and basic categories respectively on LoTW/ N5HR.
