[HCARC] Belton Ham EXPO & public service info

·        Belton Ham Expo will next occur on October 6th.

·        The BikeMS / MS150 in San Antonio will be the following weekend on October 13-14. Hams will be needed for break points both days. Route goes nowhere near Kerrville, however. :-)  BikeMS Route goes from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, east thru La Vernia, north to Seguin, and west to New Braunfels on Saturday, returning by similar route in reverse on Sunday.  2 meter repeaters are being used.

·        I'm still confirming details, but there ought to be a bicycle ride for the Children's Transplant charity on September 7th, between Helotes & Boerne, that we could use an extra ham or two. Last year they had 500+ riders & 3 break points.   Route goes from Helotes, north on Scenic Loop to south side of Boerne, then the longer route loops around the countryside & eventually returns to Helotes at the El Chaparral Restaurant (start/finish line).

·        Tour de Cure staff is looking at a May 11, 2013 date.  Route may change, due to the problems that were experienced around the south end of the route in Fair Oaks Ranch.  Not sure what the route will be in 2013, but I'll keep the club informed as details emerge from the gloom. :)
