Thanks Breck for the extra photos of your HBR cabinet building technique. I have to agree with you, the typical cabinet for an HBR 16 sized radio with a 19" rack panel is quite large and can weigh quite a bit. I've looked over your cabinet photos in close detail over the past year so your new pictures were very appreciated as they give me more insight into how to build my own. Thanks!
I am actively building my HBR-13 on a full size 17"x12" chassis with a standard 19" rack panel and have a nice sturdy cabinet for it. I may give your cabinet technique a try as it would reduce the footprint by several inches horizontally and eliminate perhaps 25 pounds of weight.
