I know the HBR 16 schematic does not show any of the IF coils being tapped nor is one side of the capacitor grounded. I got the idea from K4CHE's website that that is ok just use them the way they are.
They work find just the way they are, excellent high Q coils. Much better then any other coils. And the best part is you
can tune em to death and the tuning slugs will not break because there are no slugs.
So am I correct in assuming that I don't need to modify them by rewiring them ? Also should they be modified for 100 Kc? Can they just be tuned up 15 Kc with the variable capacitors?
The frequency can only be adjusted a small amount with the variable caps, the only way you can get them up to 100 Kc is by removing the fixed caps.
I have a lot more to learn about rigs that glow... it should be a fun adventure.
thanks
