I was holding off making a reply to this topic, but since no one else  has 
make one, here goes:
 
While the ARC-5 85 Kc IF cans are of very high quality, they are not very  
High-Q.  Their coils are air wound, while the Miller coils are on  high-Q 
powdered iron cores.  I believe the Miller coils will give better  
selectivity, if that's what you want.  For AM reception, the ARC-5 coils  may be 
superior.
