Any time you put YOUR soul into something - it becomes YOURS.  Yes, replace 
the caps, replace any resistors that are out of tolerance, "shotgun" all the 
solder joints, clean everything (including tube sockets with a tiny bit of 
DeOxit) and tighten all hardware.  The basic circuit is TERRIFIC and as my 
HBR-11 still provides "readable cw" at .045 uv @ 75m - I'd say that's just 
fine.  I've often thought of replacing the front panel (the control holes 
aren't exactly in a straight line), but ya'know - it has character and a 
proud history - why mess that up?
