[HBR] HBR-11 Template??

That sounds like a good idea Breck. I am at least planning on having the BFO box in hand when laying out the chassis in order to account for size and mounting method. I have not purchased the BFO box yet so I don't know how close to the original HBR dimensions I'll get. It would be a bugger to lay it all out assuming a bfo box size only to find out it's not available, next size down is too small, next size up bumps into the transformer :) Plus if I experiment with the BFO coil I could end up taking more space than planned.
I am in parts acquisition mode. I've just finished entering all the schematic parts into a spreadsheet (Microsoft Word actually). Next step is to double check the schematic and my list, then start ordering parts.
I'm in good shape bfo wise as an ER subscriber sent me a 1711 100 kc BFO gratis, wouldn't even accept payment for postage. He said he wasn't using it and was happy to see it go to good use. I recently purchased some parts including an ARC-5 BFO from a listmember. So I've got options here. From your fabulous HBR pages I understand the ARC-5 85 KC BFO coil is not tapped, and that's no problemo in my mind. I am very familar with Colpitts oscillators as well as Hartley oscillators as I am one of those crazy 1929 guys. I've built two 1929 Hartleys and currently have a self excited Colpitts transmitter running on 80m and 40m. So converting from Hartley to Colpitts should be fine.
A listmember here sent me out of the blue a NOS 898 Eddystone dial for my project, gratis. It's even in the original box. What a gorgeous gorgeous dial!! I won't mention names until I get the ok to do so. This is one of those times that I am humbled by the generousity of others!
So the HBR project marches on. I haven't been able to find the official HBR-11 template though. I'll ask around again.
At the moment I"m involved in a large radio sell off that's been going on since January. I've sold off more than 50% of my boatanchor collection and have another 7-10 radios to go before I reach equilibrium. That's been occupying pretty much all of my radio activity. Almost done, just a few more months.

Hi Scott
I recommend you build the BFO circuit first. The
BFO enclosure size may determine location of other
major components on the chassis. Also it gets
you in the building and testing mode. :-)
