Ok Ian and Marvin,
If you used the 6AW8 with only 5K without problems, I think will be fine my
7K to 10K transformer.
I will give it a try. Here these babys are not so ease to obtain... HI
In the 70's and early 80's, the "Philips - Miniwatt" tubes ECL8X/PCL8X were
the most common types in brazilian TV receivers, by lower cost and local
fabrication.
After a research in Heathkit schematics, the 6GN8 and 6EB8 seems a very
common option in several models. Thanks the tip.
> Why not just use a 6CX8? It's actually a really good choice.
Oh yes, but a have only one used, in my junk box and no means of test.
Ok on the question of what is the best, because I prefer to minimize
distortion even losing a bit of power output. My output transformer is 7 and
10K, so will be well suited to any one of them.
My biggest concern is not to reduce the tube life. Since there are no other
major problem. I think it'll be alright.
Certainly, the impedance is more a relative value, since in practice the
instantaneous value varies greatly even if only in the frequencies of the
human voice.
Thanks again to everyone for the tips.
73, Carlos - PY4QE
