[HBR] HBR 8 vs 13C : )

When I built my HBR-14 last winter- - - During testing I operated in semi
HBR-8 configuration with just two IFs and no RF stage - standard detector. I
found the receiver to be more that adequate for casual amateur use and I was
able to fine tune my coils including 160 meters. I found the  IF gain to be
more than adequate. Best thing to do is grab a chassis, drill some holes
start soldering, leave room for more stages if necessary. I also recommend
for new HBR builders to build the power supply on a separate chassis. I have
some video available of the testing. More to be posted on my site soon.
