Greetings Earthlings
Just dug out of a shed in the back yard an old cabinet
It looks like one that several of these radios had been built in.
the replacement panel on the front is held down with 4 screws
and measures 11 3/4 X 8 roughly speaking, and the box itself
is 14.5 W 8 H and 8 1/4 D No chassis in it, and it is in very
rough shape. It also has a hinged opening 5 3/4 X 11.5
on it's top. An opening on it's backside for the normal ins and
outs about 3.5 X 11
Seeing this is my first refinishing job, what would you use to
strip it down to bare metal, spruce 'er up and then hopefully
find some black or dark grey wrinkle finish type of paint.
I've not studied all this material out yet, so wonder if a chassis
of about 11.5 W 2 H and 8 deep is going to be big enough,
or should I keep looking??? With this size chassis there
will be plenty of breathing room inside that cabinet.
One more quick question, any of you build your power supply
out board? I did see one that way, but think I saw most had
them on the same chassis... Just was wondering if you could
avoid some noise that way.
Think I bought this at a swap meet about 15 years ago, as I've
not been in that shed for about that long : )
Thanks again ahead of time
