Hello all,
How has everyone's
experience been with respect to tuning the "front-end" coils
on the HBR?
It think the procedure is: Peak the coil
(L2/C2) at the low end of the dial.
Tune to the high end. If
you need to add capacitance to peak the coil, you
have too much
"L" and need to pull apart the windings.
If you need less
capacitance, push the windings together.
(Same for L1/C1).
(I think I've got that right; I'm going by memory here :-)
I first tried using the internal alignment oscillator to do this,
but it seems easier
to just use the background noise and resulting
audio to peak the coils.
But I seem to be going back and forth
without hitting the magic combination..
Anyone care to share
his or her experience here?
(I'm using the 20m coils at
present.)
Thanks! 73
