Very nice construction, Don. It always amazes me to see nice,
bright, unscratched Al metalwork. My projects always look like
something that the cat wouldn't bother dragging in.
I am using the 6JH8 beam deflection tube as mixer in my current
receiver project, with (lots of) balanced drive to the deflection
electrodes. It appears to be working well. Adjusting the DC balance
gives a very useful amount of IF suppression. I would expect a
7360 or 6JH8 mixer would outperform the 6BE6 for noise and
linearity significantly.
Thanks again for the inspirational pics.
