Thanks for the information on the carbon comps. The caveats against using
them pop every now and then. I always figured the vintage resistors were
the least reliable components in my gear. I have a little more confidence in
the longevity of my station. I bought my carbon comps from Dan's Small Parts
many years ago. I took all he had left, have used many but have most left.

I am building my last hybrid tube receiver for 20M, 15M and 10M.

It is my last reason to use the carbon comps.

I have the power supplies (250VDC, 150VDC reg, 12VDC reg, 6VDC reg, and
6.3VAC), a buffered local oscillator(6AH6/6C4) and audio amp (6FG7/6AQ5)
completed. The front end is currently designed to used 3 xtal solid state
VXO's that will be switched from the front panel. They use off the shelf
standard value micro-processor xtals. But I am still deciding on which mixer
to use for the front end (7360, 6BE6). I have decided 20 times but keep
changing my mind.

Thanks for the info guys!
