Yes, I had my eye on the HBR-13 with extra
oscillator tube, but I had just
discovered that upgrade recently.

I like the idea of reducing pulling, but I also agree that I do
*not* like
the idea of a tube protruding out the back of the set
:-)

I'll have to see if I can muster the guts to add another
tube.

Right now, I'm a bit concerned about getting all the
"fixes" added to the HBR-11,
along with the AM detector,
and switching to 1N54 AGC diodes, etc.

I don't know if you saw
my earlier posted top-of-chassis photo, but I probably
should have
already included the new oscillator tune in my chassis layout,
that
is, to have placed the additional tube "top-side"?  Where
could it go now?
