Tony, in my opinion the 85 khz IF's would work. One way would be to change
the second mixer injection freq to give a 85 khz difference rather than the
100 khz as used on the usual HBR.
Another way would be to change the L O freq to change the first IF freq to
provide an 85 khz difference rather than the usual 100 khz. This could
result in tracking problems etc, meaning a lot of "cut and try".
I have never done a HBR as you suggest, but I am in the process of doing a
HB65 using these fine command set transformers.
