Right now the stupid project is tripping the GFCI receptical every time
I turn it on. SOMEWHERE in the dozen or two bypass caps on the series
filament line I suspect there is one that has gone a bit leaky. In
theory this is easy to find ... Pulling the hottest tube stops it but
not the one at the very end so I should just go down the line pulling
tubes in turn ... right?

Walt,

Maybe just the capacitance is tripping the GFI. You could try capacitors
from hot the ground on the GFI without the radio to see how much capacitance it
will tolerate. Just a thought.
