Yes, it has been pretty quiet. I'm receiving more Heathkit SB-104A e-mail
than HBR e-mail and I'm up to my eyeballs in SDR and R/C radio. I
generally receive about 2-3 e-mails per month from someone who found the
web site. Recently I was contacted by Jay Helms, ex-W6HHT. You may
remember the call from some very detailed HBR coil data on the web site.
Jay knew both Ted and Alex very well, built his own HBR receiver and
would like to help the HBR history live on. He is in the process of
cataloging several inches of correspondence between the key HBR players.
He was a relative youngster when he met Ted and Alex and has been
meticulous in his building and documentation. Based on the phone
conversations I've had with him, he's still the same way today although
now he's retired. Jay did join the reflector and I hope he gives us some
insight on the old HBR days and his HBR experiences.
Over the next few weeks I hope to gather together all the letters, etc.
he has and get copies made at Kinkos (should be around 200 pages). These
are not the detailed HBR building instructions which we already have, but
personal letters between the parties as the HBR receiver evolved. I would
like to post everything on the web site but can't use that much space at
QSL.net. Maybe Bob will allow me to put it on his mirror site. In any
event I'll have to get everything PDF scanned per the previous time. In
the meantime I can offer the Kinko's hard copies at cost to anyone who
wants a set.

Boy has this group been quiet! What's going on out there? Who's building
what?
