I used Duco in constructing my coils in 1967, vertical strips top to
bottom spaced about 1/8-in apart 360 degrees around the coil
circumference. Forms were the Amphenol polystyrene type originally
specified. Coil windings in 2006 are as tight today as they were in
1967, the magnet wire has not loosened at all, and the coils work just
fine. If you are having trouble with Duco today, the larger question
might be chemical compatability of 2006 Duco formulation with whatever
plastic constitutes your forms.
