Bill,

In my HBR-11, my coils were wound on National clear-plastic forms, thus after "adjusting" the windings for best operation, I really didn't feel like doing it all the time, when they, in the course of being plugged in and out, would possibly shift... so

I stuck 'em in a piece of cardboard, so that the pins didn't get sprayed, and shot 'em with Krylon Clear Lacquer - not a whole bunch, but just enough to cloud the form, thus "gluing" the turns into place. The 75m oscillator coil required a tiny bit of retuning, but not enough to worry about, and the radio still provides a READABLE CW signal at .045 uv on 75m... slightly less on the upper bands.

i.e. Go for it
