[HBR] Coils

This has been a concern of mine for some time, having built numerous HBR 
coils a la TC.  I really don't like using the Duco...it gives a marginal job 
in MHO.   One thought was to do what National did back in the 30s, by 
cutting slots for the wire. Too complicated, and I don't have a machine shop 
with a thread cutter.  Next thought was to spray with Krylon clear coating, 
but I am concerned that it might affect the coil Q.  But I really don't 
know.  A very thin coat, just enough to fix the windings in place??? 
Perhaps someone can help out here.
