Hi Roger,
You are FIRST one to discover and tell me the picture as reversed. I've
flipped it around ...the "Motorola" does look more realistic.
Sure, if you find the pictures, I'll be glad to post them. These HBRs
radios are everywhere and were generally not parted out later. Great to
know that you still have yours. I took the liberty to copy the guys on
the HBR Reflector, they always take interest in "another one found".
My address is good in QRZ.

Subject: Photo #177 Chuck Klawitters HBR Photo #1
Kees,
You've brobably been told this 1000+ times, but the photo in the subject
line is reversed. While the writing on the radio front panel is pretty
much unreadable due to blurryness, the Motorola emblem on the speaker is
a dead give away.
I built an HBR-16 in the early '60s and think I can find some pictures.
If so, I will get them to you either via internet or snailmail. I still
have the HBR, but it is pretty dusty and I think it has several shorted
tubes. I built it on a larger chassis as I was inexperienced and thought
I needed a little extra room. I used ceramic sockets for the coils and
some of the tubes, and it really worked quite nicely for many years.
Selectivity for SSB was super and the only real drawback was having to
change those coils. It could be a very 'shocking' experience if you
didn't turn off the power before switching bands.
Tnx much,
Roger Galbraith
