Hi Lorne,
I was able to scan the latest revision I have (1967) of the Novice Special
schematic.
The coil for 40m is 3/4"dia 7/8"long #20wire. Tap1=3t, tap5=3-1/2t,
tap3=6-1/2t

Bob, I am impressed with your novice special RX.
I have built several regens but have had poor results.
I guess after having built two HBR's and working on the third
my expectations may have been too high.
I have built one with a single 6SN7 and also a couple solid
state ones. I was especially disappointed in the SS types.
I have tried finding the circuit diagram for the 56 novice
special and am unable to do so. I do not have the QST issue and
none of the handbooks I have in that area show it.
Is there any where that I might get a diagram off the internet?
Tnx es 73
Lorne
